About

The Historical and Art Museum opened its doors to visitors in 1988.

A modest house, similar to a tower, standing under the "watchful eye" of Peter the Great hides the rich history of the Lukhovitsky region. Numerous household items presented in the museum eloquently tell about the life in the 18th and early 20th centuries of the Luhovitsky peasantry, as well as representatives of the merchant class. The historical and documentary stands present the lives of remarkable people from the past, natives of the Lukhovitsy region. In the museum, you can learn about the history of the first Orel warship and see its model. There are also original documents, photographs, military uniforms, insignia, telling about the heroic past of the Luhovichi people.

Where else but in the Lukhovitsky "Historical and Art Museum" you can learn about the development of the cucumber industry and the secrets of cucumber cultivation.

The museum has four halls.

Hall 1 is a historical and ethnographic hall.

Here you can see objects of peasant life, a model of the firstborn of the Russian fleet – the ship "Eagle", old documents and photographs, learn about the history of the region.

2nd Hall of Military Glory. In the hall there is an exposition about the Lukhovichans, participants of the Great Patriotic War, the Afghan and Chechen soldiers.

Hall 3 — The Lukhovitsky Cucumber Hall. You can learn about why Lukhovitsky cucumbers are so delicious and beautiful, how to grow them properly and pickle them during a guided tour of the Cucumber Hall.

Hall 4 — "Nature Corner". It is dedicated to the beauty and richness of the flora and fauna of the Lukhovitsy neighborhood.

Since 2016, a tourist information center has been operating on the basis of the Lukhovitsy Historical and Art Museum.
